Hope for Heroes

Vision: To significantly improve the lives of as many veterans and first responders as possible in Central Georgia

Mission:

Hope for Heroes provides long term support through the construction of new homes, renovations, building additions to homes for veterans, first responders, and their families in central Georgia to improve their quality of life.

Our Definition of “HERO”:

Fireman running with water hose

Individuals or family members of those that have served in the military, law enforcement, firefighters, and Emergency Medical Technicians.  These individuals answered the call for service to the community and made the brave choice to sacrifice their lives (in some cases, they made the ultimate sacrifice) for our community, our safety, our freedom, and our country.  Hope for Heroes returns the  service to our Heroes by providing hope and support for those that are disabled emotionally, physically, or suffered a lifestyle change (impacted by man-made or natural disaster).

Strategic Plan

Currently, Hope for Heroes survives from large continuous donations from two organizations.  Funds are collected for projects that are surfaced to the organization.  Hope for Heroes screens the projects to ensure that there is a need.  Funds and services are then generated to quickly accomplish the project.

Based upon the current level of funding, Hope for Heroes can manage smaller projects or donate time and energy for larger projects.  The average project size is up to $20,000 (including material and labor).  Larger projects (up to $200,000) are supported with time and energy but supplemented with external organizations’ funding support.

To realize its vision, Hope for Heroes is reaching out to gain other sponsors (at any funding level) to further advance its outreach to the community.  The first step taken to increase its level of funding support is through our annual golf tournament fundraiser.

Hope for Heroes' intent is to increase the number of projects that it can support, as well as the level of support, to build entire homes for disabled / injured veterans or first responders (wheelchair level cabinets, wheelchair accessible ranch home, or two-story home with elevator, etc.).   Additionally, Hope for Heroes desires to purchase a property and build a home for those first responders and veterans that may need temporary lodging during the construction or renovation of their own home.
